Wishlists:

Care for Real relies on the generosity of neighbors and the efforts of dedicated volunteers to distribute food four days a week and offer other essential items to clients. Please view the important reminders below about what Care for Real can and cannot accept. We also have an Amazon Wish List, Target Wish List and a Chewy Wish List for pet food that are updated regularly with our most needed items.

Host a Drive:

If you would like to host a drive for clothing, hygiene products, pet food, or groceries, please contact jari@careforreal.org.

Drop Off Instructions:

Care for Real accepts clothing and personal care donations at 5840 North Broadway. Due to our food distribution schedule, donations are accepted at our main entrance on the southeast corner of the building off the parking lot from 1-3pm Monday through Saturday.

Our parking lot is not available for donations unless specifically arranged beforehand. Please park in the loading zone on Broadway with your hazards on, enter through the gate, and place donations in the self-service donation bins inside the vestibule. We cannot accept donations that have been left outside, and we want to avoid waste. Although Care for Real may be open at other times for pantry services or volunteer activities, in-kind donations are accepted only during the hours listed or by appointment due to limited staff and volunteer capacity.

If you’re planning to drop off more than 3 large boxes or bags, or if you will need assistance, please call 773-769-6182 extension 120 or email info@careforreal.org in advance so our team can confirm we can accept your items and arrange a time to help. This includes large donations or drop-offs requiring carts or parking lot access.

If you need a donation receipt, you can scan the QR code at our facility, e-mail info@careforreal.org, or fill out this form. If you have any questions about donation receipts, dial extension 120 to speak to Izzy.

Please note that we only accept IN-SEASON clothing, unopened/unused personal care and baby items, unopened dog and cat food, and unopened/unexpired food items, reusable bags, and grocery carts. We ask that you don’t donate items outside of this list.
