Through locations in Edgewater and Rogers Park, CfR provides food, clothing, pet food, referrals, and additional services with compassion to improve the health and well-being of low-income residents to foster a stronger, healthier, equitable, and more stable community.

Wishlists
Care for Real relies on the generosity of neighbors and the efforts of dedicated volunteers to distribute food four days a week and offer other essential items to clients. Please view the important reminders below about what Care for Real can and cannot accept. We also have an Amazon Wish List, Target Wish List and a Chewy Wish List for pet food that are updated regularly with our most needed items.
Donate Non-Perishable Food
We accept any unopened, unexpired non-perishable food. The items below are our most needed. We are well stocked on canned goods, so please focus on the items listed:
- Hamburger or tuna helper
- Pasta sauce
- Broth
- Instant noodles
- Biscuit or cornbread mix
- Cake mix
- Sugar
- Oil
- Ground coffee
- Dry or shelf-stable milk
- Individually packaged snacks (chips, crackers, fruit snacks, etc.)
- Nuts, dried fruit, granola, or trail mix
- Protein and granola bars
- Fruit or pudding cups
- Juice boxes
- Protein beverages
- Bottled water
- Canned soups and stews
- Canned pasta meals
- Canned chili
- Canned or pouched meat
